Its fair to say that since its inception the sub genre Frat Rap has seen a lot of change. Ryan Oakes is a name that has been popping up a lot lately and is an individual who has really caught my eye as of recently. The up and coming artist is much different than the Huey Mack’s, Sammy Adam’s, and Mike Stud’s that are commonly associated with the Frat Rap sub genre. Oakes in contrary uses a different style mixing elements of Cal Scruby, Hi-Rez, and other Hip Hop wildcards styles to create a sound all his own. As for his newest song Crazy Girlfriend well its all too relatable. For most of us having a crazy ex is something that has happened to all of us, and the clear and well executed visuals only help to make the viewer see what its like to be in Ryan’s shoes. Overall the single really showcases who Ryan Oakes is and is truly the best music I he has released to date.
