Mike Stud ft. Sammy Adams - Whatever (prod. Louis Bell)

Mike Stud recently linked up with Sammy Adams to create an amazing new single, called Whatever. Both effortlessly flow over the Louis Bell beat and just absolutely killed it. As Mike Stud’s new Album comes out the 7th of July, he is definitely trying to get people as excited for the release of Closer, and he is doing one hell of a good job.

RiFF RAFF - NEON iCON ALBUM STREAM

One of my favorite rappers of all time dropped his new album NEON iCON earlier this month. RiFF RAFF’S unique style is something that has always surprised me, and this album definitely showcases RiFF’s abilities as I feel this is his best work to date. This album definitely solidifies him as one of the best New School rappers of all time.

Justin Stone - I Guess

Up and coming rapper from Cincinnati, Justin Stone has recently caught my attention. With a unique flow and frat rap sound he’s easy to listen to and his flow is smooth which is uncommon among rappers in his age bracket. In addition to this he talks about real things that we can easily relate to which is another reason why his style is so appealing. Definitely excited to see what he will be doing in the near future.

Dre Vader - Ciroc ft S Dubya (Prod. Skuba Beatz)

The new single Ciroc, by Dre Vader featuring S Dubya , is bound to be a summer hit. The chorus is really catchy and both rappers are pretty talented. The mastering which was done by S Dubya is extremely well done and is definitely radio ready. Lastly the producer Skuba Beatz is in my opinion the most knowledgeable producer in the Fairfield County area when it comes to trap music, and how to produce bangers. Every part of this track is solid and I’m excited to see how it does.

Saba - Butter (Feat. Jamila of M&O )

Saba, an up and coming rapper and producer really impressed me with this recent single. Butter is just an over all smooth track and just easy to vibe with. I listened to this track for 3 hours straight yes it is that good of a track. His unique flow is what really caught me his voice is nothing like I have heard before. If I had to compare him to anyone I would say Chance The Rapper is the closest thing to him and even that is a stretch he’s just that unique. Overall Saba is an amazing artist and just flows so nicely and is super easy to listen to, he is definitely an artist to keep a close eye on.

Chuuwee - Friends (Prod. By Foreign Languages)

Friends A leak off of Chuuwee’s up coming album “The Chuuwee Channel”. The song is called friends because it shows how people change over time as people grow apart and closer together based on the hurdles that life throws in front of you. Overall it is a real solid track and definitely an example of how Chuuwee seems to kill every instrumental he touches.

L-Kwon - Do Right And Kill Everything

L-Kwon, an up and coming rapper originally from the Poconos, has created quite a name for himself. He has opened up for rappers such as Snow The Product, Chris Webby, Rittz, Jarren Benton, OCD, and Suppose. At 21 years of age L-Kwon is doing some big things and his recent tape “Do Right And Kill Everything” defiantly showcases his abilities as a rapper and creative bars that he is know for.

PSY - HANGOVER feat. Snoop Lion

The recent release of Hangover by PSY and Snoop Lion, has been getting a lot of attention. With 77,000,000 views and counting this song may be another single that does well for PSY, however I don’t think it has that electric energy and the overall grabbing effect that Gangnam style had. So I don’t think that it will exceed 1 billion views like its predecessor Gangnam style. Overall this track is pretty dope and Snoop Lion definitely kills the track. Although I can’t understand the majority of the works in this track I still love it. The fact that PSY can break this language barrier without changing the language in which he raps in is amazing and is defiantly the main contributor to his success. Overall a pretty solid track and definitely recommend you check it out.

Mac Miller - Melt (feat. ScHoolboy Q) (prod. Pete Rock)

In this song Mac demonstrates his smooth flow and ability to create a music experience like no other. I really like the atmosphere this beat posses as you can hear the rain the back ground and other effects that create an overall cool and ear pleasing effect. In addition to this ScHoolboy Q’s verse is really dope it just brings me back to the 90’s but with a twist and just makes the song Awesome.

Drugs - Kevin Abstract (ASF)

This video starts off with Kevin Abstracts desktop, he then clicks on a video which brings you to the music video. This is a really creative music video intro and this type of creativity is becoming rarer and rarer in the music industry. The producer Romil another member of ASF (Alive Since Forever) is the one with the keyboard, computer, and maschine. I’ve known Romil for some time now and must say that he’s an amazing producer and his creativity is something I aspire to achieve in my own music. It truly is an awesome video and something to definitely check out. Shout out to the whole ASF family, I’ve seen you grow over the years and I must say you guys really rock and have made huge jumps over the years. Chris Webby - The Check Up

Chris webby dropped “The Check Up” today and it is by far my favorite mix tape of all time. Consisting of 10 tracks it contains features from Snow the product, Jon Connor, Fat Trell, Jitta on The Track, Apathy, and Joe Budden. For a 10 track mix tape I must say it was amazing and I can’t stop playing it. Its overall a great project and advise you to definitely download it.

Jitta On The Track - FTW Ft. Cam Meekins & Sonny Shotz

Hartford rapper Jitta On The Track teams up with Cam Meekins and Sonny Shotz to make a summer banger.  I have been amazed lately with the amount of high quality tracks Jitta has been dropping recently. This is definitely Jitta’s year and I’m happy he’s doing so well. This is definitely a dope track and has that smooth summer vibe that just makes it easy listening music.

Jimmy BAD - Who Dat Iz (Official Music Video)

Norwalk native Jimmy Bad, is coming up on the trap music scene. He has been featured on World Star, and has been making trap bangers left and right. The video is really well put together as it was done by Mike Squires owner of Squires Entertainment who has worked on videos with Tyga, Chris Webby, Kid Ink, YG, and more. This song accompanied by the great video is bound to get you hype and turnt up.

Jitta On The Track - KEWL ft. Bukkweat Bill (Official Video)

We recently did a post on Jitta’s new song Kewl but I must say the video is amazing. The quality of this video is amazing and just flows so well with the song its addicting to watch. Jitta is really making some big moves lately and is definitely about to pop!

Mike Stud - Even Steven (Hoodie Allen Diss)

This is some serious beef this trap inspired beat mixed with the dope bars Stud lays down are insane and base developed into something that is really fun to watch. This music video is really comedic and well put together considering it mostly still photos.

Hoodie Allen - Little League (Mike Stud/Huey Mack Diss)

This beef has really taken everything to a new level using Drake beats rappers Hoodie Allen and Mike Stud have really taken some serious jabs at each other. Hoodie talks about Mike Studs sexuality, Parting Habits, and his Athletic Career. Cant wait to see where this goes but it’s getting heated really quickly. In this song he also takes shots at Huey Mack (saying that Mike Stud has only inspired wack rappers such as Huey Mack which is completely false), which is really starting something big for no reason. It will also be interesting if either G-Eazy or Riff Raff fire shots back.

Mike Stud - 0 - 100 Remix

Rapper Mike Stud returned Hoodie Allen’s diss with some mean bars. Mike seems to be really pissed about this and tore Hoodie apart with these ill bars.

Hoodie Allen - Nolan Ryan

Rapper Hoodie Allen in his new song Nolan Ryan started a nasty beef between himself, Mike Stud, Riff Raff, and G-Eazy.

Disses:
Mike Stud: “Blame it on Tommy and cry to your mommy you never been fly”
If you don’t already know Mike Stud was a division 1 player at Duke until he had to get Tommy John surgery.
Mike Stud Replied With:

Riff Raff: You like riff and raff but that’s piss and trash
Riff Raff Replied With:

G-Eazy: “Oh you’d rather be James Dean I would rather be me bitch (I’m just being honest You don’t usually wear those big ass glasses
This is because G considers himself the James Dean of Hip Hop and used to wear Large Glasses.
G-Eazy Replied With:

So sit back grab and your popcorn because this is going be a rap beef to watch!

Big Smo - Workin' feat Alexander King

Big SMO is killing the airwaves since the release of his new TV show “Big SMO” on A&E. This rapper isn’t one to rap on a hip hop beat rather he raps over country songs. To be honest at first when I saw the commercial for the show I thought it was a joke and then I listened to his music and saw what a genuine and nice person he is. Big SMO is definitely an artist to watch over the next few months as this TV show is going to help him blow up and really become a mainstream artist.

Chav - Money Talks

Chav, a Norwalk native,  is an up and coming rapper from CT. His style is similar in many ways to
J Cole but has more of a trap inspired feel. Chav is one of those artists that develops and continues to impress me every time I listen to a new song. This mix tape is classic in style as it contains mostly industry beats. Overall it’s a pretty solid mix tape and defiantly a big step in the right direction for Chav.

Jitta On The Track - KEWL (ft. Bukkweat Bill) (prod. Scott Styles)

Lately Jitta on the track has been dropping heat left and right. This artist from CT is definitely representing and putting on for the state. He is definitely going to take off soon its just matter of time.

Cal Scruby - Stay Rich

Unlike Kid Cudi, or Hi-Tek, Ohio native Cal Scruby is a more upbeat rapper. Talking about partying and making money makes him the Epitome of College/Frat Rap. This style is something that you can easily blast when with the homies or when partying during the summer. I'm excited to see what he does with his career when he graduates from Ohio State, when he will have more time on his hands. Hes definitely an artist to watch as time goes on and is a talented young rapper.

June 11, 2014

Lil Bibby - Water

The talent of recent 2014 XXL freshman class member Lil Bibby has caught my attention. With deep roots in the Chicago Drill scene Bibby has combined that with the soulful and classic hip hop sound Chicago is known for. This combination keeps me constantly on my feet and keeps his music new and relevant. Lil Bibby is definitely an artist to watch in the near future.

June 10, 2014

Chris Webby - Chilly Feat. Fat Trel

This laid back chill beat combined with the classic crunchy boom-bap drums makes this track easy to vibe with. I was extremely surprised when Fat Trel was on this as he has deep trap roots. This just makes me more excited for the up coming real ease of his next mixtape which drops in 7 days.

G-Eazy: Monica Lewinsky ft. Skizzy Mars & KYLE

G-Eazy, a rapper from the new Orleans recently dropped the new song Monica Lewinsky. It opens up with Bill Clinton denying that he had sexual relations with Monica, and then immediately goes into a trap inspired beat which G-Eazy, Skizzy Mars, and Kyle killed. The song is one of my all time favorites by G and encourage you to listen to it as it showcases how talented these artists really are.

Phenom - 30 Days (Perfected By Baauer)

Phenom a rapper from New Haven CT, is an up and coming artist from the state. He has opened up for Action Brodson, Chris Webby, MGK, Mike Posner, Chanel West Coast, and many more. At the age of 19 phenom is on his grind, as his last LP “Tag Sale” was co-signed by Kirko Bangz. He is definitely one to watch as he talks about real life situations everyone can relate to.

I addition to this his music has been played at Coachella, which for those of you who don’t know is a huge music festival. Lastly he has had performances on the Certified Trap Tour and Live mix tapes SXSW showcase. He is definitely a force to be reckoned with and someone to keep your eye on.

SAMMY ADAMS ‘WIZZY’ (Free Mix-Tape)

Sammy Adams is BACK! He just dropped a dope mix-tape called “WIZZY”. The classic Sammy Adams that we all love is back. As an artist I have had a few conversations with him and he is one of the biggest influencers of my personal music and to keep making music. Sammy is overall a great guy and I’m happy that he has dropped such a dope project. Great work Sammy! I would highly recommend you take a listen to this awesome project.

Mod Sun: MushrooMS (Prod. Mod Sun & Pat Brown)

(Mod Sun Right and Pat Brown Left)

Pat Brown and Mod Sun are my favorite hippy’s by far and also some of the realest people. This beat is really trippy and is just overall dope. It really spacey and just overall cool to listen to. With 5,000 plays in 3 hours you know its good.

RITTZ in The Backroom at 106 & Park

Have you heard of Rittz? Most likely not but you should have. This rapper who hails from the Atlanta area and is a force to be reckoned with. This freestyle on 106 and park is an example of how fast he is. Ive never heard a white rapper faster than him. In addition to this he was a member of the 2013 freshman class and is signed to Tech N9ne’s label Strange Music.

FFLS (GRATATA) Love Melo [feat. Rob Curly]

Although this song is based off of a famous vine it’s extremely well done and is something that is easy to listen to. Miami native Rob Curly defiantly showcases his smooth flow and dope bars in this song and is someone who has been coming up as he is receiving about 5,000 plays per song per week.
