The Classic 90’s Hip Hop art-form is far from dead. With the recent surge of young rappers who emulate this classic 90’s sound a lot of talent is re-emerging from the once thought to be dead sub genre of Hip Hop. Artists such as ELIJAH BANKSY have been killing the scene as of lately. ELIJAH hails from Monroe, New York, an area with deep Hip Hop roots and influence. His crisp old school flow and the sheer amount quality in the content which he drops is far above the majority of his peer’s making him a perfect fit for our newest Artist Spotlight.

What got you interested in Music ?
Listening to Hip-Hop at a young age I really enjoyed listening to the 90's rappers and I paid attention to the rhymes. Then I started writing my own raps over the beats.
Top 3 favorite artists and why?
Ahhh this is a tough one But I would say Big Pun because he’s just so amazing lyrically, Chance The Rapper because he’s a nice mixture between singing soulfully and rapping & Kendrick Lamar because I think he just dropped the Album of the Year haha a little early but I don’t know he really just out did himself
What experience in your career was a game changer for you and why?
Ahhh um there was kind of 2 of them. first time I got on a blog was pretty big for me & then my first time performing was a rush. plus having the people respond very good to the music was an amazing feeling
What else do you do besides Rap?
Um at the moment not much but after I build up the rep with the music I want to create a label of some sort and some clothes too, just to keep creating besides music.
Most memorable experience?
I got like 2 hahah all different. 1. Was seeing Kendrick backstage with my cousin that shit was crazy for me like I was super close to him while he was talking to my cousin. 2. Was creating most of the album I’m still working on with my friends Gus, Spazzy, Sym & Lingo.
What makes you different than other artists?
I mean in talking about my life they haven’t lived it so theres that but I just try rap like myself and what I want to rap about. It is good too. I have a good personality too I’m not a bland person. haaha.
