In 2014 we have seen a lot of dope artists come into the light and really make a name for themselves. The game is ever changing and more now then ever allowing small up and coming artists to really shine. In previous years the more followers you had typically the more plays you would get but in 2014 this really changed.
Felly
Felly is one of the finest artists to come out of the Connecticut and is showing that webby’s climb to success was not a fluke. Since graduating from Fairfield Prep in 2013 Felly quickly moved out to California to attend USC (University Of Southern California) and thats when things truly began to move. The young talented rapper/producer really began to shine as he teamed up with Jake Standley of 2273 records. Together this duo began to take hold of the underground Hip Hop scene and really market Felly’s Talent.
Father
Atlanta has always been a hotbed for dope rappers, however they are typically based in the trap scene. Father, with a no handout attitude really took all the right steps in order to make it in the industry. With a unique style unmatchable by any other artist he really exhibits what the art of music truly about; creating sound in a unique manner for the pleasure of others.
XVRHLDY
XVRHLDY is one of those artists that you could listen to for hours on end. With crystal like words thats just seem to fall out of his mouth and a flow dependent on deep and extremely well articulated bars he is instantaneously able to kill every instrumental he touches. XVRHLDY is that one needle in a haystack even against all the immensely popular artists found in the city of Chicago.
Michael Christmas
Boston is known for artists like Sammy Adams, Cam Meekins, artists who have that new school boom bap sound. However Michael Christmas takes Boston Hip Hop to a whole new level. With such a versatile and usually attractive style Michael Christmas is able to shine on any instrumental he hops on. He is truly one of the most talented and hysterical artists in the game as his music is filled with witty and extremely funny references.
Cal Scruby
Cal Scruby is one of the craziest artists to ever come out of Ohio. Scruby possesses the unique ability to snap on every instrumental he touches and he has taken advantage of this rare talent and formed a unique sound around it. This 24 year old rapper is simply one of the best young talents in the underground Hip Hop scene and is bound to do big things in the future.
SABA
Ever since Chance The Rapper had Saba feature on his song Chicago’s Something off of Acid Rap Ive been following his music. Not until recently did Saba begin to really pop and get the plays that he deserves. His latest mixtape Comfort Zone is one of the most amazing collection of work I have heard yet to date. In Comfort Zone Saba speaks the truth what is wrong with society, struggles in his own life and just observations of the world around us. Overall Saba is one hell of an artist and I see him doing some big things in the near future.
Danny Seth
I recently really got into the UK hip hop scene and discovered Danny Seth. Although I only have been listening to his music for about a week or so I’ve done a lot of research and have seen how much he’s grown as an artist and the pure talent in which he posses. Danny is definitely the hottest out of London if not the UK and I look forward to more from him.
Goldie Lionheart
Goldie Lionheart is one of those artists that simply seems to do everything in the rap spectrum. From trap to old school Goldie will destroy every beat you simply throw at him. This kid seriously has something else and his versatility is unmatchable and is evident after listening to only a few songs of his. This Memphis rapper is truly a rare sight as everyone in the industry is trying to sound mainstream Goldie has kept to his own sound and is really beginning to shine because of his unique sound.
Pouya
Miami rapper Pouya recently capitalized on the huge growth in the underground trap scene. Looking at Pouya you wouldn’t immediately pin him as a rapper. But once you listen to his music you realize that this little white boy is on his shit. I could listen to his music for hours on end and end up dancing around my room simply because of the fact his music is to turnt.
Rob Curly
I have been with Rob Curly’s music for quite some time now and have spoken to him quite a few times. Rob is really a quality individual he’s one humble individual who really cares for his art, and is devoted to putting the best music he can for his fans. Rob another Miami artist has really picked up speed since the release of his single Eleven and then later his mixtape Eleven. If you are into stoner rap or just simply need something chill to vibe out to I highly recommend checking Rob’s music out.
