That being said he has so much talent and really works for what he wants, this mans grind is unreal.
We chose SONCIER for our 1st Artist Spotlight because of his work ethic, talent, and what he has done for DC hip hop. As you will find out SONCIER does a lot for the hip hop in the DC area where he currently resides. In a industry filled with carbon copies its great to see such a talented individual doing his own things and conforming to industry stereotypes.

SONCIER:
my brother put me on to a lot of east coast New York hip hop during my teenage years . He introduced me to Nas, Jay-z , Capone & Norega , Mobb Deep. I eventually started honing my own craft at age 14 and then developed my first song "we in the gutta ." Didn't get serious until age 19.
NUMB: Top 3 favorite artists and why?
SONCIER:
My top favorite artists are 1. Tupac -because he introduced sensitivity to the music game from a human being standpoint. He wasn't afraid to be vulnerable.
2. Lupe fiasco - he speaks on socialism from an intellectual standpoint.
3. Nas- he created street poetry. Before him there were no artist writing about life and mentality of a street kid in a descriptive manner. He made it a pure art and we all artist need to pay him homage.
These 3 artist inspired and birthed my style. I'm a positive rapper that delivers negative content and raw emotion . I strive to give you substance on socialism with a negative approach. I'm that urban guy that tried to avoid the street life but ended up being influenced it.
Definitely can see Nas's influence in his single Graffiti:
